I note that Guy Otten, the Green Party candidate in the Rochdale by-election (29.2.24), has withdrawn.

However, as his name will still appear on the ballot paper, I urge voters who are worried by the threat of climate heating to vote for him. The issue needs to be given greater publicity.

Any vote to stop climate heating is an extremely valuable vote. The Green Party do not need to win these by-elections, but a strong showing, even for a withdrawn candidate, will show the larger parties that they must take note and start to act.

We have to bring about change – not some time in the future – NOW!
